The Color Run

My sister is doing the Color Run when it hits Melbourne this November. I really really wanna do it with her. Not only is it a chance to get out, get some exercise and support a great charity, but who doesn't want to hurl coloured powders at friends and complete strangers alike? It looks like so much fun...
Unfortunately I have a brand new baby (seven weeks old and the most amazing creature ever!), (hence why I thought I'd be able to revive this neglected blog (ha ha say all you parents out there)), and I'm not quite sure I could be parted from my Poppet for a whole day for all sorts of emotional and physical reasons.
But still it made me think, if I could get my hands on some of those powders I could throw the most awesome childrens birthday party ever!

On Being Enchanted

I have just finished reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
This is the book I wish I'd written.
It is beautiful, imaginative, enchanting.
It reminds me of the art of two talented ladies.

Parasol
Thirteen

Louise Robinson of Art and Ghosts creates these and other works of spellbinding loveliness. Each finely detailed creation seems to be a snippet of an unknown fairy tale. (My favorite is the 'Red Haired Twins' but you'll have to peek at her website to discover them for yourself.)

Delia and her dancing Bears

The Illustrated Man

Then there's the art of Emily Winfeild Martin (aka The Black Apple). Her illustrious pieces are quaint and quirky, perfect to add a little whimsy to your home.

And that's the best part, the works of both are can be purchased online - find the Black Apple here, and Art and Ghosts here.

Wishing you all an enchanting weekend! *KT

Its a Beautiful World...

It has been a crazy insane start to 2011, Queensland, Christchurch and now Japan - awful, horrendous and heartbreaking Japan... But even when catastrophe isn't rocking the world people live in poverty and desperation while others live in (sometimes disturbing) excess. James Mollison's photography project 'Where Children Sleep' illustrates this in its documentation the different lives of children around the world through their bedrooms or lack thereof.  You can see the book online (here).
This book, perhaps more so than the tragic images of Australia, New Zealand and Japan, left me feeling that I need to be more grateful for what I have, to give more generously (not just when tragedy makes me feel guilty), to celebrate the little things, to be happy, and to live a beautiful life.

Wishing you all a rich, rewarding and beautiful day!

....au revoir...

Looking for Love by Bogo on Etsy
Regrettably I've decided I can't do this blog justice... so I'm quitting! I have too much on at the moment to really search out super amazing stuff and there are so many fabulous bloggers out there with far less commitment issues than me... Perhaps someday I shell return but for now... adieu
I will continue to get my art and design fix from these brilliant blogs - Fancy New Zealand Design blog, the Jealous curator, and Finders Keepers! Perhaps you will too!

Super cute post about Love Tokens on The Golden Smith (via All The Mountains)... I have a bolt (yes... like nuts and bolts) tucked away in my jewelery box cause it was the first thing hubby gave to me (I think it had something to do with "here's a screw baby" - yep I found me a good'un)... But these love tokens are allot prettier and more sophisticated - and I was going to say possibly more effective... but maybe not, cause, well, here we are all married and all... ignore me - blabbling again... Boys take note love token - cuter than a bolt!!! x

More about Love! These prints from Blacklist Studios make me all warm and Fuzzy... would make a fantastic gift for the one that you adore... (via Modamuse)
